I don't mind hard work, on the contrary, I enjoy it! But I'm not finding enough time in the day for myself. I don't have any excuses because I truly believe in focusing on the things I can control. And I can control including some time during the week to go to Yoga. But for me, it still doesn't seem as important as when my kids need help with homework, have to be driven to after school activities, and I, too, have my own homework. So with the workload busier than ever, it seems, I realize before school is my best bet. I know that with all the work that I have, I need to work smarter and put myself as a priority! Yoga fuels me...So I'm just going to go already-
Hi Tina, I love what your yoga instructor said to you about "You can't pour from an empty cup!" This is so true and so important to remember in our hectic lives. I can relate to so much of what you shared in this post. I am guilty of the same thing. I love exercising and I always feel so good after it's done, however, it's the first thing to go from my busy schedule. I love your photo too. Hoping this project gets you back to taking care of you. You deserve it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to remind yourself. Half the battle of all exercise is remembering or getting out the door!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteI am also doing a workout project. It is so hard. And so frustrating to know that you will feel better afterward but it is SO hard to get your butt in the door! Keep it up!
That could almost be your sentence! "You can't pour from an empty cup." She sounds so wise. I will tuck that nugget of wisdom back into my own brain. There are many times as a working mom, I do feel like an empty cup. I'm behind you in your journey!
ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteI think it is great you are working on getting to yoga more! I am doing something similar, and those little things like putting your items by the door can be really helpful!

Tina, I love that saying.. "You can't pour from an empty cup!" My mom always tells me something similar. You know how when you're on a plane and the flight attendant tells you put on your own oxygen mask first? The purpose of that is because if you're unconscious, you can't help the ones you love. Whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed, my mom always says "Jenn, put on your oxygen mask!" I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt is so true that you can't pour from an empty cup! You absolutely have to make time for yourself and it's great that you have your hour a yoga as just time for you! Yoga is my favorite as well - you just can't beat that post-yoga feeling! :) Keep it up!
